Day 28 writing prompt: Never forget.  Share wise words of wisdom that you have stumbled upon.

I was researching Emotional Agility today and came across this little gem.

Between stimulus and response, there is a space. In that space is our power to choose, and it is in that choice that comes our growth and freedom. Rigidity is when we do not have a space between our stimulus and our response. We just act in a way that is prematurely almost committed to a particular outcome and that doesn’t give voice, doesn’t breathe room into any space or any different way of being.

November 28: To Boldly Go…

Day 27 writing prompt:  To boldy go…  An impending new year gives rise to reflection and goal setting.  What will your goals for 2017 be?  It’s never to early to start thinking about self-improvement!

I made a pact with myself years ago, that setting goals would not be reserved for New Years, in fact…I don’t set New Year’s resolutions either.  Why save a resolution or a goal for one point in time, when I carry this handy little scrap of paper in my pocket where ever I go, to keep me focused on all of the greats to accomplish in life.  Hence…my bucket list.

It grows

It rarely shrinks

It changes

It is accomplished

It is always with me

It is dreamed upon

It has a life of its own, which becomes part of my life…

November 24: Thanksgiving

Taking a small detour from the daily writing prompt to give thanks to all that I am grateful for ( a day late, but eternally thankful)

The generous and never-ending laughter of my children

The support and love of my husband

My friends… for your hearts of compassion and always  being able to pick up wherever we left off the last time

My parents and extended family.  Without you, it is simple.  I wouldn’t have become the person I am today.  Thank you.

For a gracious work and being able to provide for our family

For the love of travel and wanderlust

For health and happiness
