Day 7 writing prompt:  Connect the Dots.  Scour the news for an entirely uninteresting story.  Consider how it connects to your life.  Write about that.

If you have been paying any attention to the news the past few months, you might know there is a presidential election happening, and the results are coming in as I type.  So tonight I choose not to scroll around and search for something uninteresting, but to focus on a story that will shape the next 4 years (and potentially beyond). That will shape the future of my children.  That will shape all of us in one way or another.

Regardless who you voted for in this election, I am proud that you stepped out to vote. You exercised your voice in the best way you could.   And as for tomorrow, we all have a choice.  In the words of Simon Sinek, I will leave you with the most appropriate quote I have seen this entire election:

Tomorrow we are going to wake up with a new leader of our country. Whether we are pleased with the decision or not, we all stood together on the voting line as Americans. We all will go home and kiss our children goodnight and wake up to a new day where we can do something positive. We can be the leaders we want to be with our own families, at work or in our communities. We can choose to help someone, thank someone and take care of those around us. The choice to lead lives is in all of us.
